第1篇 學(xué)生英文演講稿:developing a good learning habit

the most powerful strength in the world is a habit. the most precious fortune is also a habit. it’s true to an enterprise, a country and a nation. so is it to human life. habit is one of your belongings. if you have a good habit, you will never use it up. however, if you have a bad habit, you will be in endless debt. whether to be an owner or a slave is up to you. your behavior leads to a habit, your habit develops your personality, and your personality determines your destiny. from this, we can see it is important for middle school students to build up a good learning habit.

as middle school students, what habits do we have to develop?

1. show your respect and appreciation to your teachers.

2. preview your lessons well.

3. listen to the teacher carefully.

students should concentrate on in class, and grasp the importance and difficulties, so that they will have the class effectively.

4. observe attentively and think actively.

5. be good at asking questions. the best students are those who are willing to ask questions and those who are creative.

6. learn from others.

everyone has his own advantages and disadvantages. what we should do is to learn from each other and get improved.

7. do your homework independently.

homework is an important part of teaching activities and it is a continuous part. it is the basic and independent practice. at the same time, it is the way to test how much students learned.

some students don’t have a clear purpose and attitude towards it. they cheat in different ways. some students are afraid of doing something difficult. these bad habits influenced the efficiency of learning. so, we should pay much attention to our homework.

8. think over when you take a test.

9. reflect after doing e_ercise.

10. learn to summarize.

at last, make a list of your mistakes.

mistral , one of the winners of nobel prize in chile, said,“we may wait for lots of things we need, but students can’t do that. they are growing up. we shouldn’t say tomorrow to them. their names are today.

thus, let’s start from today, from now on, from every little thing and cultivate one good habit and another. let all the good habits be with us for a life time, be a ladder that leads us to success, and to a splendid tomorrow.

第2篇 中學(xué)生英文演講稿:choice in my life

ladies and gentlemen, teachers, my fellow students:

i am very e_cited and feel it's a great honor to stand here to deliver my speech. what i'm going to talk about is 'choice in my life'

i can still remember the first time i failed in a singing contest. i immediately ran to my grandma, shedding lots of tears of course! i cried loudly and could hardly utter a word!

then, badly needed comforting words and touch came from grandma. i gradually regained my sense of pride and a sensible control of my feelings. yet, head down, i said: 'grandma, i have no choice, and i have to give up, right?' 'look at me, my dear!'she said gently. i looked up, straight into her eyes. what i saw was a shining, sweet, and loving stream from the bottom of her heart! then, there came the gentle voice of hers: 'no, no, no…' her head shaking, while eyes smiling. 'why don't you give more attention to the details?' she continued.

no other words were needed any more! i started practicing and rehearsing once again, paying special attention to those little things that i used to ignore. as a consequence, my overall performance was quickly elevated to a new high! without much trouble, in another singing contest held months later, i won!

what do i learn from this e_perience? never give up lightly! life's full of opportunities, and lots of them! to realize your dreams and fulfill your potential, you must learn to work hard and smart and steer your lifeboat wisely! as a li ling's sportswear commercial goes 'everything is possible!' but not without sweat, devotion, and tears sometimes!

life is a long journey, during which we are surely going to face many challenges, e_perience lots of failures, and equally, many opportunities are waving to us, while sweet rewards are waiting for us! to transform these opportunities into fruitful results, or turn those challenges and ffailures into valuable assets, we must learn to seize the good ones and not to retreat lightly in front of difficulties.

winners can never be quitters!

thank you all!

第3篇 大學(xué)生英文演講稿:what is real beauty

dear teachers and fellow students,

it is human nature that all of us should be fond of beauty. everybody was born with a heart for beauty. today in china, with the rising of our living standard, people's requirement of beauty has been heightened accordingly. some people spare no money or energy on beautiful clothes, fashionable hair styles, the decoration of their houses and even the improvement of their looks. but it seems to me,all these are more or less confined to the beauty in appearance,or rather, the outward beauty.

in my opinion,we shouldn't only pay attention to beautiful appearance and neglect the beautification of the mind and what we are after should be the perfect unity of the outward beauty and the inner beauty. as we all know,so far as objects and animals are concerned, there is only beautiful appearance to be mentioned, but to us humanbeings, although the outward beauty really matters, the inner beauty is much more important. this was confirmed by a famous russian writer in words much like this: 'a person is not lovely for being beautiful but beautiful for being lovely. '

here, i'd like to quote two typical instances and i'm sure, my dear friends, from them you'll find out what real beauty is. recently i learned from the radio an unpleasant incident about a well known singer. she is very charming with a sweet beautiful voice and very famous for singing the song.'devotion of love'. not long ago,she was invited to zhejiang province to give performance. the moment she was to appear on the stage, she suddenly asked for more reward. worse still, after her request was satisfied, she didn't begin to sing at once. instead, she took her time to count all the money piece by piece. thus she kept the audience waiting for half an hour. so when she at last showed up and started to sing 'devotion of love',a man rose up from his seat and shouted at her,'you don't have any devotion of love. you are not qualified to sing this song ! 'hearing this, the singer stopped singing and began to shout abuses with her finger pointed at the man. at this time the whole audience burst into an uproar. how disappointed her keen listeners were when they learned this! it is the singer herself who spoiled her beautiful image in the eyes of others.

now, i'm coming to another true story. it's about a poor, ordinary looking old woman. she was a widow without any children, living barely from hand to mouth by picking odds and ends from rubbish heaps. however, she took in more than ten homeless orphans successively and managed to bring them up. every day she labored from morning till night. in order to earn as much money as possible to raise the children and to keep them in school, she even went to a hospital regularly to sell her blood. she got so weak for the loss of blood that she sometimes fell in a faint on her way home.

discover yourself

i never think speaking in front of other people on the stage is possible for me, a shy girl, when i was ten. so when my teacher asked me to host a party of school, i refused immediately, with saying “you must be kidding.”

the opportunity went to another girl from another class, who actually has nothing better than me. after the program, my teacher said to me, “i still believe that if you had been the hostess, it would be a lot better. your voice is really beautiful, what you are short of is confidence. ”

i was abandoned into thinking hearing the words, wanted to find something against her opinion. unfortunately, she was right. i was always refusing chances like that, even never try once, but confidently saying i can’t. in another word, i was unconfident.

you can. my teacher said to me. i can? i asked, wondering, but really made a dear decision to have a try.

then, things went easy; i tried to announce some notice in front of the class, smile to everyone appeared in my life, and took part in my first english speech contest. little by little, i changed my mind, when my teacher asked me to try to be the hostess, i replied “sure”! indeed confidently with a big smile.

i’m no longer that shy little girl. i changed and discovered my own talent.

to make something special, you just have to believe it special. kongfu panda’s ducking father told him in the film, which is also suitable for us. to discover your own talent, you must believe that you can do it. everyone is like an undiscovered jade, you hide yourself with an ugly appearance, no one, not even yourself, know how beautiful you are inside the stone, you just have to believe and discover yourself, after that, you will be considered as the most beautiful jewel in the world.

discover yourself needs confidence, and confidence is the way leads to your dream and success. as your dream is right in front of you, why not discover yourself to realize it! we have no e_cuse to give our dream up!

discover yourself, follow your own step, nothing is impossible.

even a little girl with no e_perience can hold a program successfully, what about you?

even a fat lazy panda can realize his kongfu dream, what about you?

even a black people can confidently stand on the stage showing his ability and be the president of america, what about you?

discover yourself! show your confident smile!

now, it’s the time for us to say”yes we can!”

thank you very much.

第6篇 大學(xué)生英文演講稿:change the ingredients of your life

this is a glass of water, tasteless, right? however if you add sugar, it will taste sweet, but if you add vinegar, it will become bitter. the same is true with our life the flavor is created by our choices.

if kindness is added to a strange you will have a friend;but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy. if love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp.

so my dear friends, never complain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. if don’t like the taste of your life, changethe ingredients.

three year ago, i weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant embarrassment and frustration in my life. like always failing my p.e e_aminations, like always being laughed at by girls, like being terrified to speak in public. it was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my passive attitude to become confident in myself. she said “ my dear, if you can’t change you figure, why not treat it as your own style. so i began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking. by choosing to change my outlook on life, i developed the confidence to make a difference and finally i found a totally new world.

so my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance areadded to your life, you will find the confidence to conquer your limitation and embrace new challenges. and hopefully with my speech included, you will have afantastic speech contest.

i am very glad to stand here to give thier a short speech.today my topic is that the youth are the future of motherland

when preparing for the english speech contest, i simply want to search some articles as the contents of my speech. i read a lot of articles, some from the university professor, some from the famous host, some from the college students, and even from junior high school students. but after reading it, i gave up the idea, i even felt shameful. today, the topic i want to talk about is a solemn and serious theme full of glory and pride, which is a common aspiration of all our chinese. every chinese has his own dream of china, and of course, there is a dream lingering in my heart only belongs to my own.

so what’s my chinese dream ? finally i will announce.

we had learned a lot of knowledge and understood a lot of truth in the book. we had a basic concept to our country at that time. we know that our country is full of sunshine , and we are the future of our country, and our dreams are to be the hope of our motherland.

however,we don't know what time to start,we are grow up,life became not the same, though we don’t want to admit, it’s the truth that our mind and attitude to our country is changing. our society became full of deception, indifference, intrigue, pressure, corruption, sinister, and we became irritable and not calm, detest the world and its ways. our country seems to have become in a disastrous state too. a lot of young students who were nurtured by our motherland became impatient, let alone what are their dreams , what is the china dream ?

i was surprised ,when the old man fell down in the street,we are afraid to help him.i was disappointed ,when someone do good things were reported, many people think he was affectation, i was sad, when i saw many of young people become indifferent ,fraud and lack of ideal.

are we sick, or is our dear motherland sick?

i don't want to talk about the construction of our country politics, and also speak impassioned speech on the diaoyu island event .i just want to appeal young people, showing the side of youth, good and confidence.we must learn to organize our own thoughts, correct our own concept, and change our direction to the right side in future life. china dream actually lies in our young generation, especially of the intellectuals.

perhaps the strength of a person is small, but when his or her fate is connected with the motherland, he or she will be hero or heroine. perhaps a dream is tiny, but when it becomes the dream of a country, it becomes inestimable. perhaps i cannot change our country by my own, but if thousands and thousands of young people struggle for the dream together, our motherland is enough to make the world shock.

i dream to construct our beauty china with millions of young people who have the same dream. we do it without e_aggeration but only with persistence.

that is my speech,thanks everyone.

thank you very much for choosing to come in such a cold night.today my topic is about choice and process.a research shows that a man has to make 73 choices one day.with so many choices one day, people easily get so confused and afraid of making wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. in my opinion, the following part is of much more importance than the choice. there is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life, which the process makes the difference.

life is a bo_ of chocolate, you never know what you will get. forrest gump made no decision by and for himself but he accomplished great success with his strong will in the process. the process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings ,the caution, courage and persistance we have as we encounter new e_perience and une_pected obstacles. take myself as an e_ample, i changed my major when i became a postgraduate. after the choice, days have been harsh for me.i cannot understand the new lessons at all. for they are closely related to mathmatics which i learned nothing about before. however wuth the belief that this is the great chance for me to e_perience new ideas and challenge myself,i persisted. i asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life. gradually i could understand some parts and even found maths interesting.moreover, i learned to act instead of complaining. in retrospect, the choice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the past four months becomes an unforgetable e_perience in my life.

ideal society。

good evening, ladies and gentlemen:

i’d like to start with a group of pictures.

'modern and advanced'? this society forgets, and ignores the other two thirds of human beings. it's far from the ideal! we call ideal as a utopian, a place where reality does not e_ist. a few people still look forward to the ideals. we make fun of them, considering they are naive. will we still be content to live in such a society, if misfortune drops to us? no! of cause not!

when we feel the warmth of the sun, these people, endure great sorrows and pains. can we imagine that? they are our brother and sisters!

facing them, will we still complain about our own misfortune?

facing them, will we still have the mood shouting for our own freedom? facing them, will we still want to have more and more unnecessary stuff?

they are unable to meet their needs, even the basic needs of survival! everyone, as a member of humanity, shouldn't feel ashamed? our lu_ury deprived their lives, our indifference violated our soul, and our barbarity destroyed human civilization!

what's the ideal society? it's a society no one worries about their living, a society no one is refused from education, a society everyone can pursue his/her own happiness! the ideal society is filled with love, joy and kindness. in that society, we can touch the other's hearts, we can share our dreams and most important, we can just be the true men!

let's break the ethnic divide, bridge the gap between rich and poor, hand in hand, to build a great wall, protecting us from evil; to construct a steady bridge, connecting reality to the ideal society! let's pursue for that, that's the only way to the bright future! they are watching us! thank you!

good morning, dear teacher and my friends.

it’s a very intresting topic today.

i think my dad was a hero for me when i was a young child. we'd go fishing, walks, and other fun things for a kid.

every child has a good and great father, and so do i. my dad played a very important role in my daily life`````e_actly speaking, in my past 16 years.

my father always stands in the center of my life, from past till now and possibly in the future.

my family was rather poor when i was in my childhood. we didn't have our own house and had to live in a shabby, small room rented from my father's factory. the room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. i didn't have my own bed and had to sleep with my parents. this is terrible both for my parents and me.

but father made this all different!he works very hard on his own business, now we have our own 2 housese, surly,i have my own room.and he take our family so much happiness, richer and richer.

when i was little, i did everything with my dad. you could always find me sitting on his knee or walking and doing everything with him. every night he would read me a bed time story and make the voices of each character.

i learnt a lot from my daddy. i learnt to never take things to seriously and to always smile.

like many other fathers, my dad and i also has generation gap. he is not good at or even can’t work the computer. so when i sitting at the computer desk,he will say something like ‘you should pay more attention to your study’, ‘don’t waste time on the computer games’ , ‘it will be bad for your eyes’ and so on. how can i- a computer fan – reduce time on computer? so i continue studying and playing on it

years pasted, my father is over 45 now. it is time for me to look after him and i am sure i will do and we will live an even better life. and i will say,i really love you dad, cause you are the hero in my mind.

thank you so much!

yes,we can

this is for my people who just lost somebody, your best friend, your baby, your man or your lady. lift your head to the sky, we will never say bye.

these are words of the song bye-bye. every time when i hear it, i’ll always lose myself in grief recalling the tough time we came through in 20__.

the snow storm, the tibet issue, the obstruction to the olympic torch relay, the earthquake……time dates back to the day the horrible earth quake occurred in sichuan, tens of thousands of people lost life and families. i’ll never forget those days i sat front of the tv, moved by people never gave up under ruins even there’s little hope to survive. i’ll never forget those days most newspapers and websites were all in black and white. i’ll never forget those days i had my black coat on, writing down my best wishes to the suffering people.

at the same time, i also remember those days my friends abroad told me that they joined in the protest against western world’s bias on china and the fight against the tibetan separatists. i can still remember the day when i went to see the torch relay at hangzhou with heart shaped stickers on cheek. i wore the t-shirt with words light the passion, light the dream . when the torch passed by, we cheered go china, go beijing, sang the national anthem again and again, waving flags, dancing, hugging, clapping.

it was the opening ceremony of 20__ beijing olympic games which shocked the whole world and told the entire human yes, we can.

yes, we can, because we are united and brave

yes, we can because we have trust and love

yes, we can because we are the member of the great nation china

let’s stand up from where we fall down

all the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year 2000, because life without a greeting is like the sky without the sun.greetings are very important for the whole world,in my opinion.

but i don't know whether greetings are enough for us.especially when we meet with failures .i remember quite clearly that when i was a child,if i fall down and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me'please stand up from where you fall down!'

yes,we must stand up from where we fall down.

that was a special mid night in 1993.e_pectations filled our hearts.

we stared at the tv,hoping e_citedly as the voice would fly to our ears.

but at last, each chinese who loves our motherland was distressed to know the result:beijing ,lost to sydeny by a margin of two votes in the olympic hosting competition.

eight years have past, but the frustration has not healed with time at all.

now,at the begining of the new millennium, all of the pride and disappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. the 21st century, which is full of hope, longing znd thought has come. someone said,we would start from zero on.

should i really start from zero on?

no!i hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed by last century, and make our life better.

'new beijing, great olympics!' the voice cries this out around china's captital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days.

beijing, along with paris, istanbul, osake and toronto, has been shortlisted by the international olympic committee as an official candidate city for the 2022 olympic games.

this is beijing's second attempt to host the games.

everyone fully supports beijing's bid for it.

maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of beijing.

maybe,we can make much of yhe city cleaned up.

maybe,we can learn and speak basic english idioms and e_pressions for daily communication.

but,but are they just enough?

facing the new century, mankind is driven by the revolution of science and technoiogy, world economy is undergoing broud and profound changes. but nobody can deny the fact that compared with developed nations, developing countries are confronted with more pressure and challenges.in order to become famous in the world,we must speed up our international economic restructuring to catch up with industrialized nations.

supporting beijing's bid is a systematic project that can support china'sdevelopment efforts.

i believe recycled paper, clean fuel, sorted rubbish,water-saving and enery-efficient facilities will become reality in the coming years for china.

i believe the new century is an era of learning ans teaching, and lifelong education has become one of the main trends in the future developmet of chinese society.

i believe that,on july 13,our dream of beijing's olympic bid will become true.

because to millions of chinese, for china to have the gloal respect and support that she deserves is not just a dream.

it is a part of our very souls.for we are not only equal members of our motherland, china, but we are also equal contributors to the world as a whole. let us stand together, all nations in beijing,in brotherhood, friendship and peace, in 2022 and forever!

thank you!

chief justice rehnquist, president carter, president bush, president clinton, distinguished guests and my fellow citizens, the peaceful transfer of authority is rare in history, yet common in our country. with a simple oath, we affirm old traditions and make new beginnings.

as i begin, i thank president clinton for his service to our nation.

and i thank vice president gore for a contest conducted with spirit and ended with grace.

i am honored and humbled to stand here, where so many of america's leaders have come before me, and so many will follow.

we have a place, all of us, in a long story -- a story we continue, but whose end we will not see. it is the story of a new world that became a friend and liberator of the old, a story of a slave-holding society that became a servant of freedom, the story of a power that went into the world to protect but not possess, to defend but not to conquer.

it is the american story -- a story of flawed and fallible people, united across the generations by grand and enduring ideals.

the grandest of these ideals is an unfolding american promise that everyone belongs, that everyone deserves a chance, that no insignificant person was ever born.

americans are called to enact this promise in our lives and in our laws. and though our nation has sometimes halted, and sometimes delayed, we must follow no other course.

through much of the last century, america's faith in freedom and democracy was a rock in a raging sea. now it is a seed upon the wind, taking root in many nations.

our democratic faith is more than the creed of our country, it is the inborn hope of our humanity, an ideal we carry but do not own, a trust we bear and pass along. and even after nearly 225 years, we have a long way yet to travel.

while many of our citizens prosper, others doubt the promise, even the justice, of our own country. the ambitions of some americans are limited by failing schools and hidden prejudice and the circumstances of their birth. and sometimes our differences run so deep, it seems we share a continent, but not a country.

we do not accept this, and we will not allow it. our unity, our union, is the serious work of leaders and citizens in every generation. and this is my solemn

pledge: i will work to build a single nation of justice and opportunity.

i know this is in our reach because we are guided by a power larger than our selves who creates us equal in his image.

and we are confident in principles that unite and lead us onward.

america has never been united by blood or birth or soil. we are bound by ideals that move us beyond our backgrounds, lift us above our interests and teach us what it means to be citizens. every child must be taught these principles. every citizen must uphold them. and every immigrant, by embracing these ideals, makes our country more, not less, american.

today, we affirm a new commitment to live out our nation's promise through civility, courage, compassion and character.

america, at its best, matches a commitment to principle with a concern for civility. a civil society demands from each of us good will and respect, fair dealing and forgiveness.

some seem to believe that our politics can afford to be petty because, in a time of peace, the stakes of our debates appear small.

but the stakes for america are never small. if our country does not lead the cause of freedom, it will not be led. if we do not turn the hearts of children toward knowledge and character, we will lose their gifts and undermine their idealism. if we permit our economy to drift and decline, the vulnerable will suffer most.

we must live up to the calling we share. civility is not a tactic or a sentiment. it is the determined choice of trust over cynicism, of community over chaos. and this commitment, if we keep it, is a way to shared accomplishment.

america, at its best, is also courageous.

our national courage has been clear in times of depression and war, when defending common dangers defined our common good. now we must choose if the e_ample of our fathers and mothers will inspire us or condemn us. we must show courage in a time of blessing by confronting problems instead of passing them on to future generations.

together, we will reclaim america's schools, before ignorance and apathy claim more young lives.

we will reform social security and medicare, sparing our children from struggles we have the power to prevent. and we will reduce ta_es, to recover the momentum of our economy and reward the effort and enterprise of working americans.

we will build our defenses beyond challenge, lest weakness invite challenge.

we will confront weapons of mass destruction, so that a new century is spare

d new horrors.

the enemies of liberty and our country should make no mistake: america remains engaged in the world by history and by choice, shaping a balance of power thatf avors freedom. we will defend our allies and our interests. we will show purpose without arrogance. we will meet aggression and bad faith with resolve and strength. and to all nations, we will speak for the values that gave our nation birth.

america, at its best, is compassionate. in the quiet of american conscience, we know that deep, persistent poverty is unworthy of our nation's promise.

and whatever our views of its cause, we can agree that children at risk are not at fault. abandonment and abuse are not acts of god, they are failures of love.

and the proliferation of prisons, however necessary, is no substitute for hope and order in our souls.

where there is suffering, there is duty. americans in need are not strangers, they are citizens, not problems, but priorities. and all of us are diminished when any are hopeless.

government has great responsibilities for public safety and public health, for civil rights and common schools. yet compassion is the work of a nation, not just a government.

and some needs and hurts are so deep they will only respond to a mentor's touch or a pastor's prayer. church and charity, synagogue and mosque lend our communities their humanity, and they will have an honored place in our plans and in our laws.

many in our country do not know the pain of poverty, but we can listen to those who do.

and i can pledge our nation to a goal: when we see that wounded traveler on

the road to jericho, we will not pass to the other side.

america, at its best, is a place where personal responsibility is valued and

e_pected.

encouraging responsibility is not a search for scapegoats, it is a call to conscience. and though it requires sacrifice, it brings a deeper fulfillment. we find the fullness of life not only in options, but in commitments. and we find that children and community are the commitments that set us free.

our public interest depends on private character, on civic duty and family bonds and basic fairness, on uncounted, unhonored acts of decency which give direction to our freedom.

sometimes in life we are called to do great things. but as a saint of our times has said, every day we are called to do small things with great love. the most important tasks of a democracy are done by everyone.

i will live and lead by these principles: to advance my convictions with civility, to pursue the public interest with courage, to speak for greater justice and compassion, to call for responsibility and try to live it as well.

in all these ways, i will bring the values of our history to the care of our

times.

what you do is as important as anything government does. i ask you to seek a common good beyond your comfort; to defend needed reforms against easy attacks; to serve your nation, beginning with your neighbor. i ask you to be citizens: citizens, not spectators; citizens, not subjects; responsible citizens, building communities of service and a nation of character.

americans are generous and strong and decent, not because we believe in ourselves, but because we hold beliefs beyond ourselves. when this spirit of citizenship is missing, no government program can replace it. when this spirit is present, no wrong can stand against it.

after the declaration of independence was signed, virginia statesman john page wrote to thomas jefferson: 'we know the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. do you not think an angel rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm?'

much time has passed since jefferson arrived for his inauguration. the yearsand changes accumulate. but the themes of this day he would know: our nation's grand story of courage and its simple dream of dignity.

we are not this story's author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose. yet his purpose is achieved in our duty, and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another.

never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today, to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and every life.

this work continues. this story goes on. and an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.

god bless you all, and god bless america.
